I don’t care what y’all think. Nothing about my food being hot or even warm makes it any better for me. I always burn tongue and even if I don’t, I really don’t enjoy rushing to swallow because my mouth is at risk of inflicting pain. Even when it’s slightly warm, I don’t like it. I want my food stone cold, no matter what the food is.
I always let my food cool down, not even to room temperature, I let it cool even longer and I eat everything stone cold. It lets me properly savor the flavor, without worrying about too much heat. Eating cold food for me is a relaxing experience, eating hot food is a panic-inducing one, and eating slightly warm food is boring, not any better than stone cold food. I’ll even gladly eat food straight out of the fridge and enjoy it! I’ve been called “crazy” and “perverse” for this many, many times.
I like my food stone cold and refuse to eat it even mildly warm, always letting it cool down way below room temperature. Screw what anyone thinks 😆
Upvoted for being dumbass
Yeah that’s definitely unpopular. I could not imagine eating everything cold, like what the fuck?
Sue me
I do indeed eat everything cold. I get soo much shit from my bf for that 😂I used to get ripped on for eating Chunky soup from a can on construction sites.
The caveat it, during winter you need warm food to get your body temp back up, but spring to fall, fair game.
The caveat it, during winter you need warm food to get your body temp back up
No I don’t. My preference for stone cold food never changes. Not even during winter, idgaf
I’m not gonna have hypothermia on the job, sorry. Same sorta reasoning as not wanting to burn your toungue. It’s for your (my) safety.
You clearly don’t work in the absolute freezing cold like this person does…
Haaaate cold food when it’s not ice cream or fruit.
How does this even work if you eat somewhere that doesn’t have a fridge for you to cool your food below room temperature? What’s wrong with you that you “always” burn your tongue even at nonburning temps?
Sensory differences are a thing. Although I doubt OP literally “burns” their tongue on luke-warm foods, it’s possible OP has a sensory difference that makes warm food more difficult to tolerate, or possibly even painful.
For me, my brain interprets certain light touches as “painful.” I can tolerate having my hairs pulled out one-by-one and feel fine, but touch me in the wrong spot with a feather and I’ll scream. I can easily imagine other people may have crossed wires in their nervous system somewhere that make certain temperature sensations on a sensitive tongue feel painful.
Upvote for an actual unpopular opinion. Well done.
So when did you find out you had autism?
A single visit Stone Cold Creamery must of triggered it.
Now that’s a new and unique villain origin story.
Or Arfid at least.
Possibly the worst opinion here

“Stone cold” usually describes a facial expression, not a temperature.
always letting it cool down way below room temperature
You can’t let something cool below room temperature as it would just reach equilibrium at room temperature. You have to actively cool it (like put it in a fridge) to cool it below room temperature.
Stone cold describes temperature just as often. Right??
According to Merriam-Webster’s dictionary, its first entry is literal, with figurative use second.
“1 : completely cold”
So yes, it is absolutely used to describe temperature.
Not that I’m aware of.
That’s incorrect. Evaporative cooling may reduce the temperature beyond room temp, depending on how much moisture is available on the food.
Sure, but only a few degrees and only temporarily.

If you are that concerned about burning your mouth or your tongue on even slightly warm food, I can recommend a really good therapist to help you out on that.
I’m currently switching therapists, so not talking to one at the moment. However, I’m almost positive I have some form of OCD, not just because of this.
This is not an insult. Have you taken any tests to see if you may be autistic? If not, you should.
I enjoy my food cold as well, and I am diagnosed as autistic. So you might be onto something.
That was my first thought too. Definitely not medical advice, though.
I don’t enjoy my food cold and I’m not autistic. So yeah, I think they might be on to something.
No but I’m fairly certain I have at least some kind of OCD
You must really like Cold Stone Creamery and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Objectively and demonstrably wrong. Excellent post.
That is a hot take, irony intended.
There’s probably some good scientific reason for eating meat hot. And coffee? I can kinda deal but the tea? Throw it straight out if it’s not piping hot and I don’t care how the Americans take it.
Yeah, umm…coffe and tea both. Stone cold, just like my food 😆
Not even joking…This raises further questions for me, since I’m a wanna-be coffee afficianado. You get much lower extraction at lower temperatures, with both coffee and tea. Do you grind coffee finer to compensate, or do you just enjoy weaker beverages? Also, do you mean room temperature, tap-water cold, or actually chilled? How do you make coffee (and tea)? Thank you in advance!
I have a coffee machine, so I make a pot of coffee, pour myself some, straight into the fridge with that mug. When it’s cold, I add milk and drink it almost like a shot, all at once. I’m just weird like that…
With tea, I of course prepare it with hot water. Then remove the teabag, straight into the fridge. When it’s cold, I enjoy my tea :3Making coffee/tea like normal, then chilling it makes a lot more sense, with your specific preference. Iced coffee is also arguably the least unpopular part of your proclivities. Still not for me, but you go on with your cool self!
What about iced coffee? People love that stuff, and she’s prolly no different.
My wife likes iced coffee, too. I’ve tried it, I don’t hate it… but it isn’t for me. Not knocking those who do like it. I just prefer hot.
There’s also cold brew, but I’m not sure if cold brew is meant to be drank cold, or if it’s just brewed cold and it gets heated up. I imagine the former. That’s probably fine too.
Most foods taste more when at least warm. Notice I said more, not better.
That’s because once things get cooler, scent molecules don’t hit your nose as well, and fat soluble flavors aren’t as available to the tongue. Whether or not that’s “better” is subjective, but you can test it out fairly easily
In my American opinion, cold tea is only good if you dump enough sugar in it to give you a heart attack. Unsweetened is just plain inferior to hot tea.
I love unsweet iced green tea, more than hot green tea. Yum.
I’m the opposite on coffee and tea. Definitely prefer both really warm, but not hot, I don’t like either cold, but I like cold coffee less than I like cold tea. I will finish them as a punishment for letting them get cold though.
Cold green tea and oolong tea are super common in Asia.
Yep. Bubble tea is the superior form of all tea. Taiwan fucking perfected tea. Everyone else is living in denial.
I think this wins the comm. Even more than the BJ post
Coincidentally, OP shared in that post that she enjoys giving blowjobs.
I kind of imagine her mouth being super cold now, which ruined that mental image for me a little bit. 😂
You think cereal is better cold?!
There really are a lot of strange people on the internet. 😏 /s
