I have a reservation but probably won’t be getting one. Prices are a lot higher than first promised. The WT trim is very ugly inside imo for the amount they want. At this point I’ll probably just wait a few more years until the next gen stuff comes out.
I don’t think purchasing any new car is a financially god decision which seems to be what you’re struggling with. It’s not an investment it’s a want. For me it works because I got my new EV cheap, I am able to get the tax credit, I needed a truck for side work, I home electrical could support a charger without a full panel upgrade and I can charge at home. All those needed to line up in order for me to get into the EV world. For me personally I’m saving about 200 a month on gas over my ICE with the same car payment so it’s a win for me.
Toyota has been dangling this out there for as long as I can remember being into EV’s. When 2030 comes it will be oh we will be producing them in 2040 actually. You need to take whatever Toyota says with a grain of salt. They have really fallen behind in this space. They sat idol on their hybrid throne while other companies passed them by.
Ford played way too many games with their pricing and I think that made a lot of people walk away.
So couple things. That plug is junk I’m not sure the brand because I’m not an electrician but I can tell you for sure it’s not a quality commercial grade plug. Second you should really consider hardwiring your setup.
All depends on the area. Glad it went smooth everyone’s experience varies. I have two EA stations close to where I work in a pretty busy metro area. One has been throttling people to 40kw charging been like that for months and the other has had one station down for about 2 months.
Wonder when we get to see those savings. More like making the margins wider for manufacturers
Well that’s what all these companies do. Why do you think everyone is shooting for 2030 no more ice etc etc because companies are well aware that the political climate will most likely be different by then and worse case they just say they need more time. The can will be kicked down the road for sure
