400 mile range, *10,000 lb pulling capacity and not a bad looking machine.

The specs are so misleading. Every single one of them on the web page you posted has an asterisk.

The worst is the bed length. “Up to 5ft 11in” - The associated image shows an item diagonally. So, it will fit a 5ft 11in" small diameter pipe diagonally.

From the dawn of time, a pickup truck bed length has been measured front to back, not diagonally!

I am definitely going to test drive one, but not til year 3 of production. Give the early adopters time to find the faults for me.

That cab to box pass through and a canopy might make a nice trades van replacement. I absolutely need the range and the electric vans so far have been pathetic.

I have a reservation but lost interest in it because,

    1. it’s too big
    2. I don’t actually need a truck
    3. it’s too expensive

I reserved it because it was only $100. At the time it was released the specs (dimensions) we’re not out yet. I was hoping it would be smaller. The midgate is awesome tho.

I could use it a few times a year to haul wagons, header carts, and pallets of seed around but that would basically be a novelty toy for me at that point. We already have a truck for that. https://i.imgur.com/WpyjW9n.png

For other scenarios it’s cheaper for me to just rent a truck or utility van.

If GM used the extra space created by omitting a gas motor to make the truck shorter instead of longer it would be a better hit with homeowners. The thing does not fit in my garage very well. I also cringe at the thought of driving something that decreases the visibility of children and pedestrians. Rivian hit the size right for a something I would want in my driveway. Now if someone can offer one in 2wd and a little more toned down on the features…

That’s certainly a garage. The average garage depth is 22 feet according to Google.

Not available for sale yet so no one has any idea if they are going to buy one or not.

Silverado has a limited truck bed due to the “wings” so not as useful as F150.

They’re available for sale and have been delivered to end users for 3 months or so now.

The GMC Sierra version of the same truck has a more traditional C-pillar, if the aero buttress is a bed limitation for how you will use it.

18 shipped is not exactly “available”. IF you could buy a 400 mile, $105k Silverado it would be same price as Rivian R1T rated at 400 miles. Even with the wings, the bed is bigger in the Silverado than the Rivian.

GM has SuperCruise which is top rated safety tech. Dealer network offers more service spots.

Difference is you can get a Rivian R1T from stock but Silverado will not be available for purchase until late '24 if then.

Lost interest in my reservation as soon as they announced the removal of CarPlay. I’ll see if someone wants to buy my spot when it comes up otherwise I’ll just take the refund.

Purchased a bolt for price and to have an energy efficient car.

It seems the Silverado EV fails at those things.

Perhaps, they should make an electric S10.

I would rather have a Colorado sized one with that range.

But considering the software problems GM has had with some of their vehicles, both EV & ICE, I would likely get a Ranger Lightning, with 400+ miles of range, instead.

I have a reservation but probably won’t be getting one. Prices are a lot higher than first promised. The WT trim is very ugly inside imo for the amount they want. At this point I’ll probably just wait a few more years until the next gen stuff comes out.
