I’ve done the in with the home fans as an away fan thing a few times. Just be neutral at all times. Face included. Unless you’re acting like an idiot, you’ll be fine.

I’ve sat next to an Everton fan at the derby once, and he was fine. It does happen, from my experience it’s only cl matches where it gets a bit iffy. Few ajax fans last season over celebrated and wound up a lot in the home end, ended up getting kicked out because it got a bit physical in the end. Shout out to Villareal fans, they had loads in the home end during the CL semi the other year, and they were a great bunch.

Keep going on about ‘gerrin Hecky out and Wilder would whip this bunch into something.’ Every so often mention ‘tek’in shoes off int car park to get prince out.’

If your beloved team score, celebrate it. Dont worry. You may not be the only one doing so, as some fans will want the defeat to meet the criteria above.

P.s if asked say the best river is the Don not the Mersey.

Remember that you are sitting with United fans, not Sheffield fans.

Don’t do what my son did. When he was about 9 I took him to watch a Manchester derby at the Etihad, but the only tickets I could get were “City Social” ones in the NW corner with the home fans. You have a meal beforehand and they give you a program n’that. Anyway we eat then go to our seats, stadium is slowly filling up. An older guy comes over chatting and asks my lad who his favourite player was. He blurted out “Rooney!” Thankfully this guy just laughed and told him he should probably keep that to himself. It was a rubbish scrappy game, we eventually won 1-0 from a Ronaldo penalty. When the ball went in he instinctively jumped up, remembered where he was, and in a pathetic voice went “Oh no.” Luckily all the bluenoses were too busy still whining about the pen being given to notice.

Shout ‘FFS Sheffield/Utd/Blademeisters, you’re shit!’ People will assume you’re a fan
