I think the money would be better spent making EVs cheaper. Or making batteries better. Or adding actual charging stations. Or adding capacity for the grid. Or adding micro grids. Oof.

And and and - batteries can be recycled up to 95%. So dig up the lithium once and use it again and again and again.

You can’t do that with oil or gas.

Propulsion by electricity feels more natural.

After you drive an EV, you start to see an ICE as SO complicated.

For me it was in this order

1. no (to low) maintenance
2. cheap too refuel (depending on where you live). It’s about 1/4 the price for me.
3. It’s not just better for the environment, it’s better for my local environment. Air quality around me.
4. It drives SO much smoother. So much more control over speeding up AND slowing down. 1 pedal drive feels much smoother than gas/brake cycling.

It’s funny, the faster my car can accelerate the less I find myself needing to use it.

I absolutely love being able to accelerate and decorate at nearly the same speed with just 1 pedal.

I don’t find the need to drive fast all the time, but for 5 seconds to avoid something is fun, part because I can end the fun in the same manner.

I love physical buttons. I don’t hate screens. But I do hate screens for everything. Not enough for to stop me from getting an EV.

They say you don’t become a convert when you drive an electric car. You do so when you get back in your ICE vehicle.

Sometimes it’s worth having an adult conversation.

Knock on the window and politely say -

“not sure if you knew this, but it takes almost twice as long to go from 80-100% than from 15-80%. What many people do is charge to 80 or 90% and then make room for the next person waiting because of how long it takes.

Then you can say - of course if you are traveling far and there are no other chargers on your way, do what you have to do.

Just wanted to let you know it’s considered a courtesy around chargers when there is a wait.”

Well if you walk out of the grocery store and there is a huge line waiting for you and your car is at 95% - you’re just hogging a network that others can be using. Perhaps use an L2 charger if you’re shopping for groceries rather than clogging up a supercharger.

Especially knowing that the industry has adopted nacs we’re going to see lots more cars at superchargers. I mean it’s not an overnight charger so I can’t see why anyone would have an issue with this. Just prevents someone from hogging a station.
