Especially knowing that the industry has adopted nacs we’re going to see lots more cars at superchargers. I mean it’s not an overnight charger so I can’t see why anyone would have an issue with this. Just prevents someone from hogging a station.

When you make a dietary indiscretion at the charge-mart and suddenly your pooping at $1/min

(Yeah I’m in favor of congestion charges)

Park your car, plug it in, walk into the grocery store pay a huge “idle” fee. Who would possibly have an issue with that 🤦

Well if you walk out of the grocery store and there is a huge line waiting for you and your car is at 95% - you’re just hogging a network that others can be using. Perhaps use an L2 charger if you’re shopping for groceries rather than clogging up a supercharger.

You forget how many people on here base their entire belief system around “Elon bad”.

Especially knowing that the industry has adopted nacs we’re going to see lots more cars at superchargers.

This sentiment is common, but the numbers don’t pencil out. Even if all of the other manufacturers’ EVs were already NACS compatible today, that wouldn’t mean a whole lot in terms of Supercharger congestion. Tesla owners would hardly notice and consider it something of a novelty seeing non-Teslas at the chargers.

The real driver of current and future Supercharger congestion is Tesla sales because they sell so many EVs in the US. Given the recent EV rug-pulls from the other manufacturers, that situation is not changing any time soon.

So yes, Tesla sales keep growing and the Superchargers network needs to grow to keep pace. But the good news is that they’re opening new (and often large) Superchargers in the US with terrific regularity such as the 44-stall station in Redding, California that was announced just yesterday.
