The problem is that it portrays Palestinians as human beings deserving of sympathy, which is a big no-no.

I’ll get downvoted for this but

Of course the innocent civilians in Gaza are victims too. But the problem with the statement is it’s drawing a moral equivalence between a brutal civilian massacre where babies were beheaded and innocents killed in a war. To the families of the victims the difference may be nill but the barbarity of the massacre still needs highlighting.

Hamas’ attacks were an unequivocal atrocity. Kidnapping and murdering civilians - children included - is beyond the pale whatever the purpose.

Regardless, collective punishment is outlawed by the Geneva conventions. I don’t know how anyone can look at the siege Israel has placed Gaza under and see anything other than a war crime unfolding.

Using white phosphorus attacks and cutting off food, water, and electricity to Palestinian civilians is absolutely a form of collective punishment. It’s not just collateral damage.

I see us selling Ramsdale ( I prefer him over raya ) But I think we are going to keep Eddie, I don’t think any team is interested in him, and with esr clearly Arteta doesn’t rate him

Doubt we sell any of those players for that money in jan. Could see esr on a loan or something maybe with a guaranteed buy clause but i don’t see the other two going until at least the summer.

It was meant to be a big year for ESR and Ramsdale for euro 2024

Both their path is blocked so we will see

Nobody’s spending 40-50m mid season for Ramsdale or Eddie. Doubt Newcastle does either.

I’ve never been one to care about sales but if Edu sold those 3 players for 40-50m then I wouldn’t care for him either.

Tbh I don’t think it’s impossible that he could have had the spot nailed eventually. But does he walk straight into it? Absolutely not. Leading the line for us is really difficult. Finishing is the easy part. Fashioning the chances for yourself, linking the play, stretching defenders by going in behind, leading the press. The physical and technical and demands are so high.

This is a fair point. It’s very hard for young strikers to do the other parts of the game. He’s definitely not walking straight into it but I think he would have usurped Eddie by now

Who wants to shill out big fees for a back up keeper, on a starters wage, or an attacking midfielder with fitness issues who doesn’t play?

Edu can really only play the hand he’s dealt, but he plays a role in that. If we wanted big fees, we should have sold ESR two years ago and Ramsdale over the summer. They just sit around and don’t play now.

Is he starting? He hasn’t started a league since the last interlul an hasn’t started a Champion’s League match. He is the back up right now.

It’s protecting value since all 3 are on good contacts

If team is desperate in Jan for GK, mid or forward example they might pay

Protecting value of what? Teams generally don’t pay large fees for players that don’t play. Tag on that Ramsdale is reportedly on 100K a week and I don’t see how anyone can expect a significant fee for him.

Smart clubs won’t look at Ramsdale solely as a backup keeper on start wages because that’s just his situation. In reality, he’s a title challenging, could be no1 England international keeper, who’s atleast CL quality.

Why did we spend 50m on a back up ST with 1 year left. Because he’s quality.

Jesus was second choice, but still played over 2600 minutes in all comps ,including over 1800 minutes in the league, and had 24 G+A the season before his transfer. He wasn’t stashed away on the bench like ESR. Even then, we probably paid below his actual value given his situation at City with the arrival of Halaand.

Ramsdale’s wages will be an impediment for a large transfer fee. There aren’t many clubs out there willing to pay big money for a keeper who is reportedly on 100K a week. Factor in his situation with England and him likely being desperate to play elsewhere, I don’t see how the club even comes close to recouping the fee paid for him.

Eddie has for more value that people think. We will be lucky to get a combined 30M for ESR and Ramsdale though.

Why do you rank them less as victims?

Innocent is innocent whether it’s a terrorist attack or military efforts

I didn’t rank them as less victims. That’s a complete straw man. In fact I explicitly stated that.

I said that the brutality of a massacre should be highlighted.

It’s not a straw man lol you literally said it’s a problem by drawing a moral equivalence between the two groups of victims.

A more brutal loss of innocent life doesn’t need to be highlighted over another
