Who wants to shill out big fees for a back up keeper, on a starters wage, or an attacking midfielder with fitness issues who doesn’t play?
Edu can really only play the hand he’s dealt, but he plays a role in that. If we wanted big fees, we should have sold ESR two years ago and Ramsdale over the summer. They just sit around and don’t play now.
Why exactly not? He was playing through injuries before he went down and before that he scored 10 goals just in the back half of the season. Then by the time he got properly fit we added lots of players. He needs game time to get fitness back, but Arteta has been pretty stubborn about substitutions and also doesn’t even take starters off till very late in the game. If Arteta was making subs at 60’ or 65’ then these backups would get those 20-30 minute appearances to help prepare them for starts. And vice versa, take Smith off after 60’ until he doesn’t look gassed.
We should play a midfield of Rice-Jorginho-Havertz against Chelsea solely for the ex-Chelsea revenge tour vibes. Eddie up top too.
only slightly joking
Just after Partey had announced himself, he got the injury that started it all.
Smart clubs won’t look at Ramsdale solely as a backup keeper on start wages because that’s just his situation. In reality, he’s a title challenging, could be no1 England international keeper, who’s atleast CL quality.
Why did we spend 50m on a back up ST with 1 year left. Because he’s quality.
Was it Simon Murphy again?
edit: lmfao it was
I was making the point that the refs influence the game in multiple ways, not that we should file a complaint for White’s offside.
Neto is January, osihmen in summer.
A man can only dream.
zionists malding
even more unlikely than that lol, they have to beat both scotland and spain to really make any chance
Fact: United, throughout this season, has only one away win, and it was against a team that’s nailed on for relegation
This fanbase has a stricter definition of “conflicts of interest” than the FCA
If saliba is fit over the entire season, then he wins it imo
It’s different when it is their job to remain impartial. If a professor of Human Rights got paid his twice annual salary for a six-week stint at King Saud University and a year later authored a paper called “Saudi Arabia: Extremely Chill For Women And Gays, Actually”, you’d rightly look at it with suspicion.
look at the deals Newcastle made this summer. don’t think they’d have a issue with it
