The quality difference between the Golf and the ID.3 is huge. The Golf is several levels higher.
Hard to compare. ID3 has an expensive battery, leaving less resources to spend on interior.
Yeah but the id3 also costs like 10k+ more lmao
Might change with time as batteries get cheaper.
Good. Normalize regular cars as being EVs. Stop making them look like spaceships.
None of VW’s EVs look unorthodox. Other than the vaguely modern front-lights, they’re conspicuously normal-looking.
The problem, as others have pointed out, was that the interiors of the ID range all feel cheap, and VW’s in-house software and interface team really dropped the ball.
What about the IDK? 😬
Many manufacturers have the IDK (when it will be avaliable).
I hope they can lower the cars by then, so that there’s no need for en entire floor of batteries. With higher density, it should be possible. Also, a lower saves a couple of prevent of range. Maybe 5% for 10 cm lower?
5 years. Ouch. And that is best case. SO, can they last that long? (they are firing 1/3 of their staff now) and have dropped from ~11% market share to <9% now and falling.
Anyone know if that Golf will be based on the MEB platform?
I’ve literally never seen an ID3 in my life.
As a 2019 e-golf owner, all I want is an E-Golf R with AWD and a bit better battery and power. I love my e-golf.
Same!
I would probably love it too if I wasn’t stuck between all of these 1-passenger behemoth 4x4 pickup trucks.
Most of the big brands should just offer a BEV version of all their vehicles, and the customer can choose if they want it like it’s an option.
2028…
that’s a long long fucking way off for vw to correct a mistake.
ID terminology wasn’t great
Was it Mazda or BMW that had some numbers out of order and the smallest car was in the lower middle of numbers?
Numbers are for the rich to keep track of. “OH you only have the 3??”
Mazda?
Holy Planned Obscelecence Batman!
Is report the new word for “rumor”? I don’t doubt VW is making a new eGolf though, why wouldn’t they? The original eGolf is a pretty awesome car :)
Well, this “article” is quoting a report that states that a bunch of journalists heard a bunch of wishy-washy rumors from people who probably won’t be there to make that decision once it actually becomes relevant to think about in a couple of years, then asked the CEO in an interview to comment and he denied everything. Clearly this is definitely happening. 100%
🤞🏼Please come to North America 🤞🏼
2028 is a long way off
