The handball rule is so weird, that being said, fuck Newcastle. They should just “move on” from this. It’s not like they did enough to win anyway, I hope AC do them a proper one and they go to the EL. I can’t stand that stupid team.

I called him a flop before he signed with United, gotta get that bad energy in early when it comes to players going to a rival.
I keep saying we need to be more careful with our young stars but the response is always “all big players need to play this many number of games.”
It is all unsustainable and it is sad to see the welfare of players ignored in this way buy their custodians and football fans in general.
Where is this data from? Coz we could just compare with our other starters. Particularly with those in less advanced positions co maybe comparing him to Ode for through balls might be a bit unfair…
Keep forgetting about rhe league Cup especially now with all the players we have on the bench who need a good run of appearances. Yes, FA and League Cup would be great.
Would you be happy if we just won the FA cup this season? Realise it is too early for us to be talking about trophies, but as far as expectations go, what trophies would you want us to really focus on and get this season? What would be the benchmark for success this season for you?
Personally League and FA would be us really excelling. But I am not sure we can do both so I would not mind either. Given the progress we have had as a team I would be lowkey dissapointed if we only won the FA. But I still wouldn’t mind it. Champions league, I only expect a decent run. Ending up in the Semis would be great, if we got dumped at that stage I wouldn’t be too mad. The lads will have gotten a nice feel of the competition at that point and we can go again next season. The league is tricky coz city always just feels like a shoe in and despite our start, it could really go either way with Liverpool and Spurs (yes) now in the mix.
Sloboszai is really good. Him and Bruno G are players I really wish we had signed.
Why do this to yourself? You already know Eddie will start.
I hear you but also I just don’t think we do that rotating thing very well. Arteta seems to have a first team and he really likes it. Which is fine. I don’t think people are daft for saying we do not rotate a lot.
I don’t think you understand. I am saying, if we had sold Partey in the summer and the only people we brought in mid is rice and havertz, it would have been a mistake. If we sell him in Jan and our mid options are Rice and Jorginho, it will be a mistake. It will not be easy to find a person who can replace his quality but we need to do that before we sell him, before that happens we will have to get by with playing him when he is fit.
I think selling Partey when the options are Rice and Jorginho would be a terrible mistake. I also think what Partey brings to the team is a lot more valuable than our fanbase cares to admit and I can understand with the off field issues. But honestly, we need to adequately and efficiently replace him before we can even start to entertain the idea of a sale. The question is with who? If you say Rice then we still need to buy an adequate replacement for Jorghino before we can sell Partey.
I think it is extremely juvenile behaviour. But also, this entire fanbase can learn to be a bit objective in how we praise or criticise players. Zinchenko is great at going forward but shit at being a defender. This should not be a controversial thing to say. Last season, saying this would get you massacred on here. Personally I want all our players to do well, but I am also old school and really prefer a defender who is first really good at defending before anything else. Modern football is evolving at a fast pace and I can accept this, but I like what I like. I also like Zinchenko and I want him to continue bringing his unique qualities to the team. But not at the cost of our defending. At the end of the day, none of this matters, Arteta has clearly proven he will play the player he feels suits his system and instructions best.
At that price, it is almost a no brainer. But I have a feeling he will sign a new contract very soon.
Wouldn’t be surprised if his agent leaked the clause to make stuttgart give him a better contract.
I don’t think high octane football is the only kind of football that is entertaining. I just think we lack a bit of flair this season, that’s all. Maybe it’s coz our team has also suffered some injuries. But generally, we have not been very entertaining.
Despite the results, I do not think we pass any eye test this season. Happy for how we have been able to grind out results, shows our resilience is improving. But honestly, we look kinda boring.
Hate to say it, but so far all those “spurs will struggle without Kane” allegations before the season started (mine included) are looking beaten.
I stopped engaging him on account of him being unable to have a disagreement without being condescending. And yes, it was about Zinchenko. So I just ignore and move on.
Nobody is denying that, I think what is being said here is if the offence is “on the fence” it usually doesn’t go our way.
For instance, Sanchez on Jesus. Some argue it is not a pen, some argue it is. We tend to get the clear stone wall ones.
we have played 4 “big 6” clubs so far and we have beaten two and drawn two. Compared to last season, we beat spurs at home, united at home, lost to city at home and beat Chelsea at Stamford. So from the same fixtures last season we got 9 points, this season the same bunch of fixtures got us 8 points. I think we have shown tremendous growth to beat city at home. I also think these big 6 games are really important for us and I do hope we win more of them this season. Etihad, United and Pool away wins would go a long way to overcoming the mental hurdle we have when we play them.
Nah, they’ll own up to this one without a big fuss (no media campaigns and commentators being used to express their disgust at City’s behaviour)
