Despite the results, I do not think we pass any eye test this season. Happy for how we have been able to grind out results, shows our resilience is improving. But honestly, we look kinda boring.
Need exceptional luck in terms of personnel to play high octane football and win trophies like Liverpool did unfortunately.
As we know far too well given our collapse at the end of the season, all it takes is one or two injuries and it falls apart.
We are exceptionally boring if we aren’t scoring 3+ but the way we’re aiming to play is more conducive to winning games whilst keeping the squad fresh than last year.
I don’t think high octane football is the only kind of football that is entertaining. I just think we lack a bit of flair this season, that’s all. Maybe it’s coz our team has also suffered some injuries. But generally, we have not been very entertaining.
We’ve had a lot of change so far, both intentionally by us with the new signings and unintentionally. In terms of the latter we’ve only seen our first choice front 3 start once and haven’t started a midfield of Partey, Rice & Odegaard yet either. Add to that the injury of Timber and it threw a massive spanner in the works.
I think we’re finally getting all the pieces into place now and we’ve got a relatively kind fixture list until Liverpool, so hopefully we can have a good run & momentum built up until then.
I’m sure the plan is to control & dominate games but I’m not sure we wanted to lose as much of the zip as we had, think with a more stable team with our best attackers fit & firing we should hopefully see an uptick in entertainment
