so the market changed overnight? funny how that works
Tesla was moving their cars at high velocity and found the top price that keeps them moving
the top price which apparently came down 40% in less than a year? besides, this matters to the consumer how exactly?
Dealers aren’t doing that to EVs, they are radically overpricing.
back when i was fruitlessly trying to buy a mackey, every dealer i called said they have nothing on the lot because all allocations and abandoned customer orders were getting bought up immediately. and the lowest markup i found was $5k
At least Tesla got some money which they can, and did, put back into capital improvements for future models.
aside from the fact that this is is incredibly naive, it generalizes beautifully to other manufacturers, like gm announcing they’re doing a $10b stock buyback.
hold on let me pretend to be a r/electricvehicles commenter:
“hurr durr this is stoopid they need to mandate plugen charge it’s easier that way for everyone you just need to set up 35 accounts in 27 apps and you’ll be golden no fuss”
it is absolutely not polestar, I can tell you this much
right, because tesla charging $70k for a stripper model y was totally not the same thing at all
your entire post is devoid of value
you’re spending this much effort haggling over a thousand dollars? which one of you is being unreasonable?
bro, take the car to a dealer, we’re not tesla, we can’t diagnose your 9-year-old ev’s issues over the internet
could be because abrp is garbage
huh? they recently lowered prices on the lightning by a good amount
you actually think all content about tesla is 100% organic? how adorable
only in certain circles that I make every effort to avoid
this would make sense if they were consistently communicating this exact message. but instead we get stuff like ford raising prices and justifying it by saying that they’re losing money on their evs - if losing money was both true and expected, there would be no need for them to do or say any of this.
I think any ev from a big 3 brand (with possible exception of the bolt) isn’t actually designed to make money or develop technology and is designed as a showpiece to show consumers that they’re innovative and are in with the latest trends
If the Direct Sales model of EV buying has taught me anything, it is that we need to know everything about the vehicle, incentives, charging, and interest rates prior to purchasing a vehicle.
you waited this long to learn all of these things?
“I went in to buy a low-volume car that was highly unique and unusual for that manufacturer and i was surprised that a random salesperson didn’t know that much about it”
holy shit is this guy seriously comparing the model y to the ev9
