the drawbacks of the etched dont seem worth it. just move the screen a few degrees so you dont get any reflections? is it really that difficult in your gaming situation ?

IMO oleds are glossy for a reason. I see the etched glass as undesirable for oled. Fuck i just realized my rog ally is anti reflective and it explains why i cant stand that screen sometimes it has worse viewing angles and generally just feels fuzzy when not looking at it straight on.

Bringing it closer to native really makes things pop so I put it around 85% with a 7500k color temp… I prefer cooler displays

samsung are pissed valve used BOE too, they cloned their OLED tech and cant even get it right

If i had a BOE panel i would return it and go for a different model. I would not be surprised if the BOE ones are more susceptible to burn in as well

why are boosted colors on the OLED labeled under native? Are valve making the oled less vibrant by default? What setting are you guys using?

The only one I find a necessity was the stickers for the trackpads. On the og deck you could easily fuck up the look if it with general use. At least they are replaceable

dead pixels are defective screens! do not settle for that shit, send it back or it will taunt you for life using your device and kills resale value

I will say on day 2 it seems less frequent but still there, maybe it will break in? we’ll see i guess! il update you when valve write back and let you know what they suggested

I’m not sure I sent a support request to valve to see what they suggest. Everything else about the device is good so I’m hesitant to exchange it. Might just fix it myself if possible
