If you are part of a particular demographic, then you can tell jokes about it. Fluffy can tell fat jokes. George Lopez can tell Mexican jokes. Rosie O’Donnell can tell lesbian jokes. Etc, etc.
If the jokes are actually good and not a cheap attempt to degrade the demographic, you’ll often find that it’s acceptable to tell said jokes without being part of the demographic.
