I hear a lot about the various EVs on the market and their drivetrain/software/ride quality but I rarely hear about the quality of service that comes post-purchase. Perhaps because it’s not an exciting topic.

Which brand would y’all say has the best or worst reputation in the regard? How would you say Chevy compares to Tesla or Hyundai?

I get the impression that many who say Tesla have never owned another EV, and are coming from an 11 years old Honda Accord or a 14 year old Audi A4 with cloth seats.

I’ve owned a string of new BMWs and Audis before moving to Tesla. This is location dependent but the Audi and BMW dealers in NoVA are straight garbage. Horrible customer service and they refuse to diagnose rattles/creaks.

Haven’t had that experience at any of my local Tesla service centers…

I also think it’s location dependent. Audi dealerships in Norway (Møller Bil) aren’t very good. BMW dealerships (Bavaria) are really good, though.

All the “by far the most comfortable car I’ve ever driven” posts definitely prove this.

I went from a 16 year old Accord and rave about my Leaf’s comfort, so I probably shouldn’t be talking…

This effect makes it really hard to tell what’s what.

When people complain about “cheap materials” and cosmetic defects in M3’s, it’s hard to tell whether they are comparing to luxury cars or to 15 year old cars with crank windows and manual locks.
