The game against Newcastle is what I want to see in him, not scoring goals.
With Ø being back and him moving back to the right side too, let’s hope so👍
Well idk about that because he should have been sent off 30 minutes into the game lol
No he shouldn’t
Barring that tackle, his work rate, and his involvement in our attacking build up is what we want to see.
his involvement in our attacking build up is what we want to see.
Did he play 1 dangerous pass? Did he have one good shot himself?
His start at Arsenal reminds me a lot of Giroud tbh. You can tell he feels the pressure of needing to perform immediately while knowing patience is limited, and he’s been solid from the beginning and improving every week, away at Newcastle he looked great imo, once he feels comfortable in the team and has gained the trust of fans I think he will fly.
There are countless cases.
Nacho, Koscielny, Alex Song and many others were all so hated when they first started but slowly came around to become great squad members.
Just wondering, when these players came in were we in a title race? Did they have the benefit of starting slow due to the fact that we could afford to lose points?
I really think it’s his price tag that’s the issue. I don’t think he’ll ever live up to it, but he’ll come good, and wee going to look back at now and think we were crazy to doubt him
Am not strickly on the pitch no semantics
He’s our guy, and we’ll always be 100% behind him.
Idk what people expected of him he is playing much deeper than he has ever has in his career. He is a midfielder in a traditional midfielder 3 set up. How is he suppose to score goals in that position consistently. He works hard defensively and off the ball he presses and his movement is tops. He is just allergic to scoring or finishing on that final ball to him. I still will support him.
But does he give 100% tho? He’s slow on and off the ball and lacks any vision or finishing - areas he could prepare & train for. I’m assuming he’s starting games to get him into form but so far it’s been v poor.
I want all Arsenal players to flourish but this dude is being carried by a really good team atm 🤷♂️
let him cook boys
Xhaka 2.0 huh, highly rated everywhere except by fans
Who rated xhaka outside of that 1 season? Who rates kai havertz now? Are you delusional? Do you think you are special seeing something that is jot there? Are you on your medication?
Nah everyone slags off Kai
Took three managers and four years to realize they had to move him up the pitch but go off
He’s clearly improving! Sure he will succeed! People that slag him off are not the sort of fans we need!
Even if he is a transfer flop, he has a great attitude and have nothing against the player.
he should do his talking on the pitch. anything else is just cheap, ozilesque PR.
In the MLB, there’s a player named Trea Turner who signed a huge contract for the Phillies and was doing horribly. He got booed for a while, but one game, the Phillies fans all gave him a standing ovation and went nuts backing him. It completely turned around his season. He wound up being a critical piece for them, and the team as a whole started winning a lot more. It’s amazing what backing a player can do, and I hope we back Kai.
Now name me all the other hundreds of flops not named trea turner. Easy to be selective.
I’m not saying it would make Kai come good. I’m saying it’s worth a shot.
I kinda feel the players around him haven’t synced with him yet. Some of his flicks are good but the player didn’t think he would do that and so it was behind him. But he definitely needs to zip the ball more with purpose.
Some Arsenal fans would rather see him fail, even at our expense. The reality is that we’ve taken a gamble on him, we don’t need him to be scoring and assisting right away, and he is definitely working hard defensively which has contributed to why we’re better defensively overall this season. He will need to improve when it comes to his attacking contributions, but in the meantime we back him and trust Arteta to make the right personnel decisions.
It’s my personal hope that ESR can get his injury/fitness issues finally resolved but that day may never come.
What a dumb comment dude. No fan is hoping we lose just to make Havertz look bad lmao. People disliked Xhaka up until he was a key player in our campaign last year. Everyone would love for Havertz to play a positive role in the starting roster it’s just that he hasn’t proven to be capable of that yet. Get real
Its the straw man argument. Can’t say a player is bad and a net negative for the team without hating the club or wanting better.
Are you serious? Declan’s the one whose contributed defensively. When was the last time you saw him make a clean tackle? And his a CAM not CDM.
I swear some people in this sub don’t actually watch the games…
How many times have you seen Kai make a successful tackle?
At least once: https://youtube.com/shorts/l7kiqDG0CHw?si=iytzUykV37ryuozQ
Ben White in this clip 😮💨
Some Arsenal fans would rather see him fail, even at our expense.
are these fans in the room with us, can you point to them?
I dont believe you.
Find me one person who would prefer Arsenal suffer because they want Kai to fail.
The negative comments come from people thinking the reason Arsenal isn’t performing in attack is because of Kai. I’m not saying that outlook is correct, it is much more nuanced, but it certainly isn’t wishing Arsenal to fail to win an Internet argument.
To switch it around, ‘Some Arsenal fans would rather see him play until he succeeded, even if it meant Arsenal would drop points.’
Kai Havertz is a below average defender on every aspect besides winning aerials: https://fbref.com/en/players/fed7cb61/Kai-Havertz
How someone could watch this team play and come away with the idea that Havertz is the key to our defensive improvement is beyond me. That would be Declan Rice and a healthy back line lol
Appreciate the effort, hope to see it translate to results soon. But Kai certainly does not offer enough defensively to be a non factor in the attack
My brother in christ you linked to a site that showed the exact opposite of your argument 🤡
Thats for forwards not midfielders 🤣
Tbf that’s v midfielders when he hasn’t played as a true midfielder most of his games. According to that site he is 70th perctile in goals and above the 97th in shots and xG and 85th in xA against other midfielders which is very far from a non factor in attack. If his confidence and shots can improve then those could become great numbers
Thats what he’s being played as though. So if he’s gona be played as a mid thats how he has to be evaluated
Are the same people lording praise on havertz doing the same for Raya or is it different because he replaced a fan favourite?
