His start at Arsenal reminds me a lot of Giroud tbh. You can tell he feels the pressure of needing to perform immediately while knowing patience is limited, and he’s been solid from the beginning and improving every week, away at Newcastle he looked great imo, once he feels comfortable in the team and has gained the trust of fans I think he will fly.

      There are countless cases.

Nacho, Koscielny, Alex Song and many others were all so hated when they first started but slowly came around to become great squad members.

Just wondering, when these players came in were we in a title race? Did they have the benefit of starting slow due to the fact that we could afford to lose points?

I really think it’s his price tag that’s the issue. I don’t think he’ll ever live up to it, but he’ll come good, and wee going to look back at now and think we were crazy to doubt him

Idk what people expected of him he is playing much deeper than he has ever has in his career. He is a midfielder in a traditional midfielder 3 set up. How is he suppose to score goals in that position consistently. He works hard defensively and off the ball he presses and his movement is tops. He is just allergic to scoring or finishing on that final ball to him. I still will support him.

But does he give 100% tho? He’s slow on and off the ball and lacks any vision or finishing - areas he could prepare & train for. I’m assuming he’s starting games to get him into form but so far it’s been v poor.

I want all Arsenal players to flourish but this dude is being carried by a really good team atm 🤷‍♂️

Who rated xhaka outside of that 1 season? Who rates kai havertz now? Are you delusional? Do you think you are special seeing something that is jot there? Are you on your medication?

Took three managers and four years to realize they had to move him up the pitch but go off

He’s clearly improving! Sure he will succeed! People that slag him off are not the sort of fans we need!

In the MLB, there’s a player named Trea Turner who signed a huge contract for the Phillies and was doing horribly. He got booed for a while, but one game, the Phillies fans all gave him a standing ovation and went nuts backing him. It completely turned around his season. He wound up being a critical piece for them, and the team as a whole started winning a lot more. It’s amazing what backing a player can do, and I hope we back Kai.

I kinda feel the players around him haven’t synced with him yet. Some of his flicks are good but the player didn’t think he would do that and so it was behind him. But he definitely needs to zip the ball more with purpose.

Some Arsenal fans would rather see him fail, even at our expense. The reality is that we’ve taken a gamble on him, we don’t need him to be scoring and assisting right away, and he is definitely working hard defensively which has contributed to why we’re better defensively overall this season. He will need to improve when it comes to his attacking contributions, but in the meantime we back him and trust Arteta to make the right personnel decisions.

It’s my personal hope that ESR can get his injury/fitness issues finally resolved but that day may never come.

Are the same people lording praise on havertz doing the same for Raya or is it different because he replaced a fan favourite?
