despite being owned by a state with which the UK has many interests economically will it be one of the cases that might go unpunished?

Juventus were relegated and stripped of titles due to match fixing and paying officials for favourable outcomes.

There is zero chance they will be stripped of their titles or auto relegated.

Fines, points deductions and transfer bans are almost certainly the extent of any punishments they will receive if found guilty

Will transfer bans cover academy players… for example… city can offer any academy prospect at any level in this country a deal worth far more than their current club… look at they players they’ve produced without necessarily paying fees; Foden, Sancho, Palmer, Nmecha, Lavia, Olise, etc, etc… all multimillion pound assets when bought by other clubs.

Whats to say they get 3 year transfer ban… they’d still have 3 years of PL level talent coming through the ranks.

As I recall it, the actual investigation done a few years later came to the conclusion that almost all teams were guilty, including Inter, but only two were actually severely punished. Perhaps aided by the fact that Telecom Italia was basically doing the investigation and they also happened to be sponsors of Inter and their CEO also sat in their board. At that time we laughed and said “only in Italy”, well, now we know…
