When it comes to ex football players becoming pundits all I hear about carragher is that he was bad but to play for England at three major tournaments and 38 caps you’ve got to be somewhat good? What do you guys think.

As a liverpool season ticket holder for 25 years I can tell you he was a decent defender and leader you could hear his GET OUT!! All around Anfield
He was a decent defender. As a Spurs fan though, he scored so many own goals against us (I believe more than any other player in league history) that it’s very fun to laugh at him.
He was fantastic on his day, anyone that disagrees didn’t watch football back then.
He was very good. He wasn’t a top-tier CB like Rio, Vidic, Adams, Terry, Campbell, Kompany etc. but just below. He was solid, intelligent, consistent and reasonably versatile too - you don’t play for Liverpool for that long otherwise. Unfortunately for him, he played at a time when England had a few outstanding CBs.
Not a bad player in the slightest. A decent, solid centre back who, while prone to the odd gaffe, could be relied on.
I do get frustrated when people say that he should have got more England caps. He was fighting for one of two spots with Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, and Sol Campbell. I’m amazed he got 38 caps.
He eas above average and that’s pretty much it. Consistent but no john Terry or Ferdinand.
For me, Carra is one of the all time greats due to his sheer mental strength and determination. He had nothing going for him as a center back but he somehow was able to break into the most talented England squad of all time and he won the Champions League against the best club team ever seen (AC Milan 2005). He wanted it more than anyone else on the pitch and he was able to reach further than his talent should’ve been able to
Any scouser is gonna get slack from the rest of the country, especially Carra.
Better record by measurable achievements than most other commentators. Only Neville, Henry, Keane and Souness outshine him from the current crop.
Carra could play across the back 4 and gave everything in every game for Liverpool. He didn’t have the fastest pace so his positioning was superb. I think I heard Carragher and Daniel Agger’s defensive partnership is actually the best in the premier league on minutes and goals conceded.
He was the original Milner. Totally underrated but an absolute work horse.

He was a Liverpool legend 🤷🏻♂️ and they needed someone to argue with Gary Neville 😂, I think thier amazing, not only funny but Gary Neville’s knowledge of football is class, wouldn’t think it as a player but was impressed with his football intelligent he was
