Like others have said, down talk yourself down like that. …and it’s just a car.

That said, make sure you test a RWD coupe or sedan to experience what BMW is really about. The AWD ones are nice too, but the experience is a bit diluted, especially if it’s a SUV.

Depends if you have eyes. One is a monstrosity and the other looks pretty good.

For one thing a lot of people think that bigger is automatically better. Worse, because it starts with a “3” instead of a “2” that it is automatically higher in the food chain and superior… I wouldn’t want a 7 series or any SUV even if it was lower priced than the M240… More for you (and me).

Nah… I’m about 50 and drive an M240 and will upgrade to an M2 next year.

Yeah. I don’t like the grill on the i4, but it does look like a normal car. It is the one I would buy if I was forced to buy an EV for some reason.

The Q8 will never be desirable, it is a potato on wheels. But it does look normal.

Exactly. I don’t plan to buy one anytime soon. They are terrible value, even with the gas saving.

I get it, but there are shapes that are simply more attractive than others. Cars that are muscular or feminine are more pleasing to the eyes as try reminds us of what make some people attractive. A crossover looks like a potato. Nobody lust for a potato.

And talking about form following function, there is no need for all that busy cladding and lines that goes nowhere.

That’s a good choice. We need more EVs that looks like regular cars.

All of this generation of EVs will depreciate like crazy as battery technologies will improve a lot over the next few years and become somewhat more affordable.

Most EVs are also undesirable eyesores - the Taycan looks great, but it is a rare exceptions. It is like they have been all designed by 4-years old who think their flashing shoes are the pinnacle of design.

Why not a 3 series? If you are to pay BMW money, unless you need the larger trunk, why get the compromised driving experience of a SUV?

I’m on my sixth year with a M240. I can’t imagine driving anything else except maybe an M2 or a Boxster/Cayman. It is fun while relatively comfortable and relatively practical. The back seats are too small for full size adults for more than a few minutes, but for kids, dogs or small adults it works just fine.
