  • From a professional standpoint, is that something you’d want your employer to hear, or potential employers or opposition? Just feels…too honest and naive. I get that he may want to come across as more human and approachable but surely not to the extent of making himself look bad.

Yeah it isn’t right in the way he has presented it. It’s a perfectly fine thing to do in the way of “I like get the opposition and home fans engaged with me in order to focus more upon the game as the atmosphere really helps me as a player” but the way he’s presented it is wrong. “I like to muck around with the crowd because I find it hard to concentrate in a game” is the same thing presented incredibly terribly.

It’s like telling your employer at a job interview that you like to post on reddit in between tasks. Everyone does it and it might actually help you focus between work streams but you should not discuss that at all with your employer! It makes you look unprofessional.

  • A lot of people here are probably new to CL football in context to Arsenal and assume that every team not in the top 6 of PL or like…PSG, Juve, Bayern and Real/Barca are just bad. You saw this with Lens who had a great season last year but people assumed we would just walk over them like it was nothing.

I think people also don’t realise the allure of the CL over the EL. Our best players WANT to play in the CL, that’s why “Champions League Football” is sure an advantage in transfer negotiations. We can’t and won’t play second rate squads in that competition because it’s valued as equal to the PL. Trossard, Jesus, Havertz, Rice etc. all came here because they want to play in that competition.

The years of playing in EL has basically just warped a lot of newer fans perception of what a European campaign should look like.
