Watch son disappear without Maddison
Hwang Hee Chan masterclass followed by a 5-0 spanking for Burnley 💉💉
I’ll fume if kompany rocks up with a deep block
The only deep block Kompany can set out at this point of time is with his forehead.
Why is Carragher tweeting and writing articles crying about VAR? I thought he was part of the “just get on with it” brigade?
Do you think Saka plays tomorrow?
I’m ready to captain him in FPL
We should ‘replace’ Partey with an elite 8 and play Rice at 6 instead of playing one off the worlds best 6’s at 8. Play Kai as a 9 and look for an elite goalscoring striker in the summer
I have a Facebook memory from Nov 10/12 (Arsenal v Fulham 3-3 draw) asking Why is Arteta taking a PK for Arsenal (he missed in 90+5) lol
I’d like to see Gabriel get his rest tomorrow before going away with Brazil. Kiwior played very well at home to Sheffield Utd in that role and it should be a similar tempo of game. Assuming no Nketiah, Odegaard, Saka or Tomi, the team could be:
Raya
White - Saliba - Kiwior - Zinchenko
Havertz - Jorginho - Rice
Vieira - Trossard - Martinelli
Subs: Ramsdale, Hein, Cedric, Walters, Gabriel, Elneny, Sagoe Jr, Cozier-Duberry, Nelson
Obviously that’s worst case scenario and we’d hope to see some/all of Saka, Odegaard and Nketiah fit to join the squad.
Maybe it’s just me but I don’t think we’ll be in for Zubimendi anymore. I just can’t see how he/Rice will play that advanced 8 role, a role we wanted Gundogan or Mason Mount for.
Hopefully we are able to replace Partey with Zubimendi. That guy just keeps getting injured when we need him the most and like they say availability is the best ability.
Also expect M.Oliver’s masterclass for PGMOL against us on Saturday.
Rice wins balls in midfield he has no right to. I’ve never seen a midfielder make the kind of interceptions and recoveries he makes on an almost every match basis
I see those 50-50 balls or the balls in the air and think fuck we gave lost it, then boom rice appears and we play again.
He’s magic you know
Shame Neto is out injured otherwise I’d have been expecting a Wolves win given all Tottenham’s injury’s and the early kick off slot
Maddison out for Spurs now. Watch them fall apart.
I do find it really odd how little support there is of Raya on here.
I get that Ramsdale is incredibly charismatic, and he has the history of helping us get to where we are now. But we’re looking back at home with rose tinted glasses. Raya is making more saves, is better at passing, and the mistakes as a new player gets used to a new team will get ironed out.
He just needs a good PR campaign. He’s been in England for over a decade. We just need an interview with his mum wearing a top hat, espousing how much she cares about him
Even with all this, it’s still important to support Ramsdale. It’s not like he’s taken his chances, for example the west ham game, but he still deserves all our love and support
Ramsdale keeps getting rated higher every game he doesn’t start. Diaby effect
People like Ramsdale but I said even before Raya was in the picture that he is our Joe Hart, in every respect - popular, English, charismatic, important part of the squad - and a good keeper but simply not optimal for a title and champions league challenging side.
It’s difficult to accept players like this being moved on. I’m sure many City fans weren’t happy about Hart being frozen out too.
Incidentally I’m not 100% convinced that Raya is the ‘final form’ of the keeper we need to be consistently winning the biggest titles. I just have more confidence in him becoming that than I do Ramsdale, and I think he’s a step closer to that than Ramsdale.
Raya has been okay, just alright. He hasn’t shown enough for some of us to justify him starting over ramsdal (hopefully this come with time), I would even say he has cost us points (Spurs’ first goal, murdryk’s goal, even the Newcastle goal).
To be honest, even at his best, the difference between both keeper IMO is marginal. I’m sure he will win more fans with more consistent performances. But ramsdale also deserves more games.
I think we’re in a bit of a problem situation in that Partey is almost a sunk asset due to his injury record. No one is paying big money for him at his age/injury status/contract status not to mention potential attitude flaws that have been discussed over the past year or so.
However, quality defensive midfielders don’t grow on trees and it would take a huge amount of money that we don’t have after the Rice deal to either sign a direct Partey replacement (Zubamendi?) or fully commit to Rice as the CDM and go and sign a proper replacement for Granit Xhaka.
Realistically another cash cow must be found. You could sell Ramsdale, sign a cheaper backup keeper and use the cash to fund a midfielder deal. You could also sell ESR who might not need a direct replacement as we already have Odegaard, Havertz and Vieira covering attacking central midfield roles plus Trossard who could play inside too.
