1 year agoCars after certain number of years are required to be scrapped or go through annual inspections. All EVs designated for transport use (taxis, p2p car share, etc.) must be “recycled” after 7 years and are not allowed on the road after.
You really have to visit China to understand how fast the transition to EV is. It’s not surprising when manufacturers are willing to actually make AFFORDABLE EVs, people will actually buy them.
I visit China every 2 weeks and take Chinese Ubers where the EVs don’t even have a touchscreen infotainment. Those cars are at most $20,000USD and fully electric.
