I think that’s typically how I define it too. Saka is easily a top 5 RW. Saliba is easily a top 5 CB. Rice is easily a top 5 DM

I fully accept that Raya is the undisputed #1 for this team, but I would be so happy for Ramsdale if he was given the CL game today. I’m 99% sure it’ll be Raya, but I think it would go a long way in showing support and trust in Ramsdale if he gets picked today. And until Ramsdale is fully out of the club, we might still need him if something were to happen to Raya. Showing support for Ramsdale when he’s down would go a long way to make sure he’s still part of the team
We also haven’t had a single game with a preferred starting XI. How much have we seen a midfield of Partey, Odegaard, and Rice? A single half against City? Imagine how much ball progression alone would improve with the full team
His persona doesn’t win many hearts, but he’s right so much more often than he’s wrong. Part of the problem is his insistence on going all in on his hot takes (like how incredible Maguire is)
They didn’t have a single shot for 60 minutes. They generated 1.0 xG with something like 0.7 of it coming from their goal that shouldn’t have stood. I don’t see a world we lose that game without that decision
I know my opinion isn’t universally shared. That’s what I’m trying to figure out. Every time I watch the goal I try to see how it isn’t a foul and I can’t. He used Gabriel’s neck as a springboard
The foul isn’t a 50/50 imo. It’s so obviously a foul that I honestly can’t understand anyone saying otherwise. The ball out of play and the offside are much more 50/50 calls
Probably not the best in the world right now, but I don’t think there’s any I’d rather have for the next 10 years
If this was fifa and I didn’t have to worry about chemistry and structural stability, I’d like to see a rotated squad tomorrow with a front three of Trossard/Havertz/Nelson, with a midfield of Jorginho/ESR/Vieira behind them
I love Odegaard, but Rice looks more like a captain so far this season
This definitely feels like a loss to me after how shit the team looked for most of the game
He had a couple shaky moments in the City game, but he does not look shaky af
Pickford hasn’t made a save since the World Cup lmao. Every shot on target has been a goal
Completely forgot Bellingham was playing today
In footballing terms only, that’s the part I have trouble with. I think he probably did it because I believe the women, and I really want him out of the club, but I’m never sure what a club should do in these situations. If they suspended him the second the accusations came forward, he would have been out of the club for a year and a half now with no end in sight. If the investigation is never dropped, but the police don’t have enough evidence to charge or drop (at this point), is his career over? Should it be the same for just some random guy that works at a Tesco in Mansfield? He’s not allowed to work until the investigation is dropped?
