Ordered a ROG Ally an hour ago, will be here tomorrow by noon.
19th November UK (1TB OLED) order. Might take a while at this rate, but I’ll get my money back.

This is useful information. I’ve contacted support to ask them to cancel my order and immediately issue a refund due to it being lost in transit, since neither GLS nor Parcelforce know where it is.
Everything to do with this fiasco is about setting expectations.
The estimated delivery date was way off.
The weirdo “packaged” status gave no timeframe.
The tracking doesn’t work, at all.
Everyone (mostly) would be calm if realistic expectations had been set.
Also: this has given me way too much time to read Ally and Go reviews.
All 1TB are etched, LE or otherwise.
At least in the UK/EU, it’s a disaster. Maybe less so in other regions - I haven’t been following those.
Making a public fuss forces corporations to do things.
I’m not feeling all that excited about trusting Steam right now. The current shipping fiasco has make me a little less tolerant.
I’m ready to buy a ROG Ally out of sheer annoyance, tbh. Only thing stopping me is that I really don’t want to buy from Currys, who seem to be the only online shop selling the thing, and their return policy states that you can’t have used the device at all.
You’re probably going to end up with two and have to return one. From what I’ve read here, they won’t be able to cancel your order.
I appreciate the effort put into this.
Oh, I understand. I’ve just been down this road before with laptops, and it’s not a good time. Part lotteries are no fun!
I’m starting to suspect that “Packaged” may well mean allocated in China and possible en route to the Netherlands.
This post will absolutely cause mental health issues.
Icing on the cake will be when mine shows up next week with dead / stuck pixels. I’m trying to mentally prepare for that already…
I feel as though everything about this process has been designed to optimize frustration and disappointment.
I’m fine with waiting for things. We’re all used to that. This process though…
First of all the thing appears to be in stock, there’s a “Buy Now!” button with a sensible estimated delivery date that won’t be met. This is the set up for everything else being disappointing.
Then there’s the “Packaged items” status with no communication of progress. That’s just weird.
Finally there’s the day long wait for any response from Steam support. Nail in the coffin is that you can’t even cancel the damn thing when it’s in this “packaged” status.
It’s just a thing. A luxury item that I don’t need. Whatever, I don’t care that much about it. I do care about online stores that suck at communication with customers.
I’m in the UK.
Looks more like a hair under the glass.
Packaged still. Gabe, I’m not mad. I’m just disappointed.
Ordered 1TB at 8:45 last night (UK), status just changed to Packaged Items. Maybe it’ll be here sooner rather than later.
Did the wait list issue ever get solved for anyone (UK)? Trying to order the 1TB version since yesterday afternoon, no luck so far.
If you want your status to change, give up and order a ROG Ally. That’s what I did earlier today, and now both are due for delivery tomorrow. UK 19/11 1TB.
Still planning on sending the SD back unopened.
