Let’s not lose sight of the fact that United won’t be anywhere near us by the end of the season anyway. Would have been funny for them to lose but the actual relevant results were as we needed them to be this weekend.

Young is shit, I have no idea how he’s still starting in the Premier League.
Spurs concede less than 13 shots in a Premier League game this season
Difficulty level: impossible
So glad Emery isn’t our manager anymore.
0.1 less xG per game in exchange for 0.3 less xGA per game is an amazing exchange over the course of a season. I appreciate wanting swashbuckling attacking but the switch up so far has been 100% worth it.
Plus, that’s with our starting front three being able to play barely any games so far and no suitable left 8. We get that left 8 in January… oh boy.
Lmao Emerson Royal and Davies at CB, Watkins is licking his lips.
Havertz hasn’t even played well and he’s already showed what a valuable tool he is at unlocking a low block. He’s also 24 and massively experienced at the top level. Some shambolic ball knowledge on display when it comes to this signing.
Nor should they, but reverting back to a more direct style with less control like we saw last season isn’t the answer.
Last season people rightly said we’re too frantic and need more control, which is exactly what we focussed on and now we’re winning games with ludicrous field tilt and control, and people want us to go back to last season’s style.
Some people will never be happy.
Yeah at home in 21/22. Emi was beginning to annoy me by that point so I found it extremely amusing.
I miss Jurriën Timber.
Why is Carragher tweeting and writing articles crying about VAR? I thought he was part of the “just get on with it” brigade?
Unpopular opinion but, as good as he’s been, this “we should have signed Maddison over Havertz” thing is reductive. They’re two totally different types of players and we’ve already seen how having a totally different profile like Havertz can swing tight games where we need something different (likely a calculated signing by Arteta, considering we have adapted our game to sacrifice swashbuckling attacking in certain phases of games to shore up defensively).
I’m not sure Maddison would have suited our system anyway, he’s a number 10 who drives forward and seeks to influence the final phase whenever possible. The 8 role in our system needs to contribute in the first and second buildup phases as well, something I’m not sure he’s as reliable at.
Spurs keeping up their season average of 13 shots conceded per game lol
(For those unaware, that isn’t a number typical of title winners)
I have Brighton to get a point at the Etihad, us to batter the blue racists and Sheffield United to bottle it from a winning position again.
He’s actually looked pretty decent for them, in fairness. He was a winger who’s moved back, adapted his game and is still competitive at the top level - you have to say fair play, really.
We’re doing it to Liverpool too, just watch us.
