Who reads this anyway? Nobody, that’s who. I could write just about anything here, and it wouldn’t make a difference. As a matter of fact, I’m kinda curious to find out how much text can you dump in here. If you’re like really verbose, you could go on and on about any pointless…[no more than this]

  • Now that I think of it (far more than a silly topic actually deserves), I’m convinced it’s a 2-stroke mechanism. Loading and firing are separate stages of the normal operation cycle. Think of that like the two stages of a power cycle of a 2-stroke engine.

Piston moving up is like cannonball and gunpowder going into the barrel in the loading stage. Gasoline igniting and moving the piston down is like gunpowder burning and propelling the ball out of the barrel.

  • I have a cheap espresso machine (Princess) and a moka pot, so I can compare them easily.

The cheap machine can make some sort of espresso, and it can make hot milk foam. Microfoam seems to be impossible, so you can forget about doing latte art.

The moka pot can make strong coffee, but it’s not as strong as espresso, unless you use it in a very particular way. Here’s how: use the Hoffman method, but cut it short. You need to stop extracting a little bit before you actually run out of water. Also the flow rate should be as low as possible to give the extraction enough time.

If you do that, a moka pot can make strong coffee that is so close to what I can make with my cheap espresso machine that I can’t tell the difference. However, pulling it off requires patience and skill.

Since the cheap espresso machine can’t make nice foam, you might as well just use a moka pot and microwave the milk.

  • I’ve had Fedora on several computers, and everything worked for quite a while while. Eventually though, things just began to break randomly - probably a sign of me not doing much maintenance.

The most common issue was Gnome Software center failing to update anything. I just ignored that app, and continued to upgrade through the CLI for a while. Eventually, I just got tired of that, and installed Debian on my HTPC.

Now I can finally treat that computer the way I want. Just install, watch videos, update when needed, and ignore the rest. I have another computer for satisfying my tinkering desires, so this one is just for the videos and very light browsing, but not much else. Therefore, Debian is the perfect distro for this kind of use.
