I’m a Toyota tech we have a machine that mostly does it for us basically a vacuum pump if you can’t get it to drain with the drain plug. Also a pump for fluid to pump into the dif it’s just a lot easier in the air and the fact I do 3-4 a week doesn’t hurt. For the most part on Toyotas I can’t speak for other brands because our shop (dealership) really doesn’t do anything other than rotations and tires for non-Toyotas but they’ll have 2 plugs 1 drain and 1 fill. Provided they aren’t rusted to hell. Before you drain fluid I’d make sure you can’t get them both loose before proceeding with the service because if you drain fluid and the fill will not crack loose without breaking your fucked.

You realize it’s the same fucking thing with most scanners right? It’s either credits to tune/write with free reading or the whole thing is subscription based even if the scanner is from snap on or any other Major or minor brands
