Here’s why you can’t trust stats on their own. Looking at that you’d think Arsenal dominated but we really didn’t. I think we were edging the game in a lot of areas but it was very close and we definitely didn’t play well.
That said, it still took a penalty and a stroke of luck to score against us. I think there’s a lot for the team to learn from that game.
Honestly it’s incredible how well he has hit the ground running here. The MASSIVE price tag could easily weigh him down, not to mention the expectations of the fans. The fact he’s come in and been an immediate stand out player is a very good sign for the future. I think he’s already one of my favourite players in the squad.
Freddie was very much a head down player. Very direct and that was something we needed when so many of our players were looking to pass having a player that just runs at you was a good change of pace. I liken him to Martinelli in the current squad.
Very interesting though that instead of indulging Henry’s complaints Arsene basically told him to look at the way Freddie played and adapt. I’m sure a lot of managers would see their star player complaining to them like that and would tell Freddie to change his game. I know I’m preaching to the choir but Wenger was a very smart dude.
I don’t know if Sanchez would have the discipline and defensive effort to please Arteta to be honest.
