The goal contributions were not far apart, and Messi won the world cup as a captain and absolute protagonist. Haaland scores a shit ton of goals but he wasn’t even the most important player of city. I do agree that Messi should have won it less then 8 times, but this year it’s absolutely justified

Agree with everything you said but the last part. I don’t get why people wanted haaland to win. He was amazing sure, but there were far more important players in city for now, (kdb, rodri, even stones maybe). Also, winning the treble with city is way less significant than winning the world cup
