I mean objectively they could’ve pretty much had any player that was available for trade this off season and ended up doing absolutely nothing I don’t understand what was Pat Riley’s thought process genuinely

Gotta go with 76ers. Heat fumbled Dame, but they still have a solid team despite losing Gabe and Max. 76ers are about to implode at any moment, trade Harden for pennies on the dollar and have to deal with a potential Joel trade request sooner than later when it all happens.

You can never count the Miami heat out with how they develop players. Jimmy is 34 turning 35 his last year of being ultra productive before it starts to take a dip.

The biggest factor is how Bam and Herro Develop. Both players could come back way better. 2nd season for Jovic. And the new guy they drafted I’m forgetting his name.

All I’m saying is you guys weren’t even mentioning or thinking about Vincent, Strus or any of those role players until April hit so the same thing can happen this year.

They should’ve just put everything on the table for Lillard. They were being needlessly stingy and got burned.

It’s not like they would’ve needed to give up Adebayo. They were just hoarding assets that come playoff time won’t make a difference anyways. It was a matter of ego

Let’s answer this in a few months. The season hasn’t begun. It’s an open question. On paper, Miami had their opportunity to appreciably upgrade their talent level and didn’t do so. But we know from history Pat Riley will not OK a move that isn’t on his terms. He’s going to do things his way and has his process and analysis on every decision this organization makes.

It’s worked up to this point. They were within an inch two years ago of making 3 finals in 4 years. It’s working, but they haven’t won a title with this group yet. We’ll see if it can work this season and if they can cross that final threshold.

WTF do you mean “they could have had any player that was available for trade this off season??” With what assets? Aside from moving their identity in Bam and Jimmy, they tried everything they could. And Josh Richardson 100% makes their team better.

The Mavs are going to waste another year of Luka. Hope I’m wrong but they STILL don’t have a legitimate established center on the roster with Luka despite that being a blatant obvious need the entire time. Lively can be good but he’s a rookie so he’s gonna take his lumps. Going into this season with Powell as the backup center is inexcusable.

They picked up some decent role players in Curry and Exum, but it just looks another season where they’re undersized and going to get bodied in the paint with Luka getting beat up trying to do too much. Really hope Josh Green and Jaden Hardy go nuclear this year.

Their rivals in the east got much much better. They got worse this past offseason, losing two starters who were key shot makers for them. If max Strus doesn’t hit 7 3s in that play in game, they miss the playoffs.

Herro and 1sts could have 100% acquired something.

They just went all in and held steady on Dame, believing he would ultimately force his way to Miami.

Yeah, we’ve gone way too far on “the Heat don’t have any assets” narrative.

2 youngsters picked in the 1st in the last 2 drafts, 2 or 3 firsts (OKC would have absolutely nothing to lose in unprotecting the pick they’re owed, so they can reach 3 firsts to offer very easily) + a very good 23 year old 20 ppg scorer who’s improved substantially every year he’s been in the league isn’t the same as not having assets.

Sure, we’re far from OKC in terms of assets or anything like that, but we’re also no quite the Suns.

2 youngers picked in the first round

Draft picks are kinda like cars tho. They lose their value fast when they leave the lot/draft.

Only exception is when they play well
