    To this day my mom defends the fact that she didnt teach me her native language because apparently as a 2 year old I told her I didnt want to learn it. Same energy.

      Disclamer: I love regional and indigenous languages. I hate jacobinism, cultural imperialism and the fact that a handful of dominant languages are seen as prestigious or more useful.

      That being said, if her native tongue is percieved as low prestige, I can feel her. Parents want to offer to their children the best chances and the best social position. People are often even ashamed of speaking a language, sad but not their fault.
