The letter says, they did try to collect 3 times in 2014, but you did not pay. Therefore your debt is even bigger now.

As a general rule you pay taxes in the country where the work is done. It doesn’t where the company is from. So if your Lithuanian employer pays you for work that you have done while physically being in Denmark, then you pay taxes to Denmark.
As others have mentioned, Lithuania has an extradition agreement with Denmark, so if you don’t pay, you’ll be arrested in lithuania and shipped to Denmark for prosecution.
All you can do is either pay now or call them and make an agreement where you pay it off over time.

So you benefit from our country (healthcare, roads and many othjer things) and wont pay. Thats the reason we sometimes get a bit tired🙄 Call them and make a payment agreement that you will be able to pay every month. Thats easy to do in denmark

The reason they do it now is because if your dept pass the 10 year mark it becomes too old to collect. But because it’s before the 10 year mark they can still collect it. You owe taxes pay em. Or you won’t be able to come back to Denmark and you might be called in court if you don’t show an arrest warrant will be out for you and if you ever return to DK you’ll be put in jail. So. Up to you really.
Edit to add that it’s only if you haven’t heard from them in 10 years the dept would be forfeit but since you now have heard from them it resets.

Yes, you’ll be a criminal. That in and of itself should be a problem for you.

Possibly, but why does it matter? Pay the money you owe.

Do you think the unpaid taxes stop being unpaid because you left the country? Lol

Unpaid taxes from 2013 plus interest, by the looks of it

Finally a clear answer and not another ridiculous comment about pay the tax you owe “me”. Wow the Danish people here are really self entitled and all pretending to be so perfect and are even pretty nasty in the answers…

You can contact them and sort out a payment plan, you don’t have to pay it all at once.

It’s your responsibility to pay taxes on your own income.
Instead of asking why it’s taking them 10 years to collect from you, ask why it’s taken you 10 years to file your taxes.
