I’d like to ban tipping altogether. Just charge me more. I’m paying that price anywhere and it takes the bullshit out prices that should be straightforward.

Yeah the fact that tipping is hard coded into federal law is idiotic. Charge me a baseline amount to cover employee living wage, and if the server or bartender or whatever went above and beyond their normal duties I’ll tip them

Whenever anyone complains about California labor laws, I just assume they’re upset they couldn’t take more off the top at this point.

While it’s a tad weak, Virginia also started some form of a data privacy law (thanks California for getting the ball rolling on this) and tied the state’s ban of gas cars to California’s timeline.

There’s a lot to be thankful to California for paving the way for this.

If this becomes law, I hope they make it so ridiculous ranges are not allowed.

Oh our job pays between $1-$1,000,000,000,000,000. Um, that’s not helpful. Literally all paid jobs pay somewhere in that range.

Or even the less ridiculous, but still dumb stuff like $30,000-$70,000. And then if you get to the offer stage they want to offer like $35,000. Then the range isn’t $30,000-$70,000. It’s $30,000-$35,000.
