I am watching Sky Sports pre-match show now, and everybody on the table saying this 10-point deduction was harsh, and if you want to punish people, punish the owners and this and that…

I get it, Man City has over 100 allegations, and Chelsea has some too but that doesn’t change the fact Everton is in the wrong as well, personally, I think they will be fine even with the points deductions there are teams worse than them and they are playing well enough to be safe till the end of the season.

And if the end of the day, it’s proven Man City and Chelsea are also in the wrong, punish them, simple as that.

I just don’t get the feeling of “oh poor lads, they don’t deserve this…” Please, we have teams in history that suffered way more than a simple 10-point deduction and the level of outrage wasn’t near the same. We have teams that played in the Premier League out of league football because of poor management.

They are mad City are still in the league. They’d be more mad about Chelsea if they were winning. Same goes for Everton tbf.

Everyone’s mad when it’s not their team.

It’s a narrative for a season that will probably be defined by Man City walking their umpteenth win.

Sky always tries to portray themselves on the side of the fan. They’ve been constantly on about owners at all levels because who the hell cares about rich people, but we can of course relate to the football fan.

They did it during the Super League debacle even though it was nothing to do with the will of the fans, it was that they do not have the rights to it and their business would have went under.

I mean I get what you’re saying but please name teams that have had worse punishments in the premier League.

    1. 10 point is a ridiculously large amount, particularly considering by all accounts they’ve apparently been quite forthcoming in the process of investigation

    2. Nobody believes Man City or Chelsea, despite far bigger and somewhat flagrant rulebreaking will be punished anywhere near as harshly

    3. It was just over a bit extra money for work on their stadium, not some massive conspiracy moves

Don’t get why they are protesting either doesn’t make sense! They cheated admitted it and they are saying the league is corrupt. If they were protesting when city have won everything then fair enough they should be protesting against moshirj cuz the report is shocking about the numerous warnings they were told about before the charge. And you can’t say it’s about city and Chelsea cuz they haven’t been seen to or decided yet. And all waving around red signs when you are playing United is very strange.

Ah yes because feeling bad for a team that was on the up before the point deduction is definitely irrational behavior. Useless post.

because people are fucking idiots they blatantly broke the rules and city are under investigation for different breaches but they don’t have the iq to differentiate between the 2 cases

What was worse Everton breaking FFP and be open about it with the premier league, or 6 clubs trying to force through a European Super League which would have broken the fairness of the English game forever?

If it’s the latter then where are the deductions for those clubs?

Because Chelsea, Madrid, City, and all the rest haven’t been docked points. I think Italy is the only nation that really punished irregularities. It’s also sad thaf Everton was once a very strong, historic club, and now they’re fighting back to back relegation battles.

I just think 10 points is disproportionate.

Makes no sense that administration is 9 points and a financial overspend of ~£20m is more.

I know that Everton abused a loop hole in COVID and they overspent sponsorship money they didn’t have, so there should be some repercussion for that, regardless of the City and Chelsea situations, but they also had the rug pulled under their feet by the Usmanov situation which I think would be unfair to not consider as extenuating circumstances.

I’m not defending a Russian oligarch here, I’m defending the club and the fans. Right up until that point, there was nothing to stop sponsorship from russian companies.

To use a school analogy: Everton saw what City & Chelsea did but they’re getting into trouble while the other two won’t because they’re parents donate too much money

Tbh I don’t care about City and Chelsea. They aren’t my club, none of my business. What I do care about, is the fact that we took out a loan to pay for our stadium, which the Premier League told us was FFP deductible, before changing their mind a year after we did it, then using that to charge us.

It’s ridiculous. How on earth were we meant to take into account the league changing the rules on a whim when doing our finances, then retroactively punishing us for it.

Because the pundits that are ranting about this, haven’t actually read the documents.

They lead the outrage and have to make a quick statement to keep viewers from going elsewhere.

There are actual investigative journalists who have spelt it out in detail for those that don’t want to read the over 24,000 related documents in this case. But instead G Neville etc and other various tabloids are selling ragebait.
