The CTS-V Wagon has always been my dream daily driver. So when one popped up on CarMax with only 12k miles I decided to jump on it. Paid to have CarMax ship the V Wagon to my local store, and it’s still in transit, so I haven’t bought it yet. But after running the VIN through a command F on this google doc: https://www.cadillacforums.com/threads/extensive-v2-production-number-breakdown.960330/ I discovered that the V Wagon I’m waiting on spent the first 6k miles of its life as a member of Cadillac Racing’s Infineon fleet.

So guys and gals…totally not a red flag right? Right?

    I’d still feel confident buying it. It’s not like it was a rental car or somwthing

    Maintenance matters not just how it was driven. If it was part of their team fleet it almost certainly was immaculately cared for, and that should offset any hard driving it was subject to.

    It’s a lot of track driving but I’m also pretty confident it was maintained with high quality parts and service. Wouldn’t necessarily scare me

    Unless the car is being offered at what is equivalent to salvage-title prices for a CTS-V wagon, this is a hard, hard pass.

    Anyone who has any familiarity with the stresses track duty can do to a car, especially one that is being passed-along by non-professional drivers who have no interest in the longevity of the car would advise you to not buy this car unless it was offered at a significant, and I mean SIGNIFICANT discount from a similar vehicle that has lived the majority of its time on the street.

    The testing they put into the LSA in development was insane. They redlined the hell out of it if I remember correctly. I wouldn’t be too worried myself.

    LSA is practically unkillable in stock form. The design was run for 24 hours between peak torque and peak horsepower.

    The chassis is very good as well except the mag shocks leak. Of course tires are key.

    If car passes inspection I would buy it if the price was fair. GM wipes the warranty they do not want any risk of it coming back.

    As a former V Wagon six speed owner it’s the only car I ever sold I miss.
