M340s are run-of-the-mill. They put a little M badge on there so buyers think they’re special but they’re really just basic 3 series with more cylinders. It’s not an M.
M340i is as much of an M car as many of the actual M badges of the past. If they’d made the M340i and said it was the M3, I don’t think anyone would argue. It’s definitely not a “regular 3 series”.
UpTo 6 or 7 10ths, maybe. The non m don’t handle really pushing it nearly as well. If you’re just buying it as a street car you have to ask how often that will matter. It’s a sharp street car for sure and most people would be better off with it. But it’s still a street car.
I disagree, the M340i just felt fast, there was nothing exciting about it. the F8X on the other hand felt like a completely different car, from the sound, handling, overall experience. Would not consider passing a M340i as an M3
I have a really hard time imagining anyone who has an M3 has ever thought to themselves, “man I wish this was a regular 3 series.”
In fairness the M340’s aren’t your run of the mill 3 series, but I do agree with your statement.
Still an MPA. Not even close to a M
Yeah but that really only applies until the new model comes out. But I guess so does everything else.
Literally are but with a different letter in front

They are a run of the mill 3 series. Just an 340i (which doesn’t exist) with a standard M badge and a M bumperkit.
But then again anything with more than one number after the M isn’t really an M either.
Ahahahaha could not have phrased it better

Compare G80 M3 and M340i. The F80 is a different level, fully agree.
M340 has better low end torque which is more fun for city daily driving. M3 makes more high end power but realistically how ofen do people go 100 mph+
When they see the service bill on brakes they will lol
LMFAO. funnest comment i’ve seen on this sub in a while
Depends on where you live I guess? I would go for a saucy regular 3 series over an m3 purely because the disparity in insurance is insulting
