A lot of people hate on “NPC” colors like white, black, grey, and I’ve even heard blue.

I think there’s nothing more “NPC” than to pick a different (and sometimes ugly) color just for the sake of being different. It reeks of “I need to feel special”. If you love a specific yellow or green on your car that’s great but if you’re just doing it to avoid having an “NPC” color, you’re the NPC.

I know this post will be unpopular because the r/cars take is “grey bad!” so I expect a lot of downvotes by the “actually my Civic is orange because I’m just so exciting as a person totally not boring!” crowd

I own a white pickup truck. Is it a “boring” color? Sure. But that’s the point. I don’t want it to stand out. I don’t want it to stick out like a sore thumb.

Plus as someone that works in construction, I don’t mind it. It matches the other trucks and vans in the fleet and I don’t attract unwanted attention when I have to park in the center median or in other questionable locations. Combine that with my hard hat and safety vest, nobody asked me what I’m doing or why I’m here.
