this argument is so fucking stupid lmao. anyone who has ever owned a mountain bike and a pickup truck knows that you throw the front tire over the gate
Okay, so since this thing exists, it must be extremely common everywhere, and you’re going to deny the experiences of anyone who isn’t you. Way to be a closed-minded jackass. I don’t mountain bike a ton anymore, but I used to a ton as a kid. I can tell you my dad would have grounded me for a month if I just tried to throw my bike halfway over the tailgate because it would scratch the shit out of the truck without one of these, and I don’t see why this would be necessary when you can just throw the bike in the bed.

I’ve put bikes in a truck tons of times, and I’ve literally never done that.

ever see a pad on the tailgate of a truck? that’s literally what it’s for. thule/dakine/similar all make the same thing for exactly this purpose
love the downvotes from people who clearly don’t mountain bike but aight

I’ve owned a compact van and a mountain bike. I could easily fit it I side the trunk of the van.
