This happened to my wife’s 2016 Corolla where several panels had paint chipping off of them. I did a little research to discover they could potentially cover repainting the panels. We took it into a dealer, they took some pictures and after a few weeks it got approved! It took nearly 2 weeks for the job to be completed, they gave us a rental in the meantime. We just got the car back today and it looks brand spanking new. Pretty much everything was repainted except for the front end and the rear bumper. It’s even hard to tell that it has a few dents!
Give it a shot and good luck!
Mine’s probably too old 😂 05’ finally losing paint.
yeah my 05’s hood looks horrible
Bought my daughter a used 2010 Prius in 2018. Now has over 150k miles. Two months ago Toyota sent her a recall about the paint. They repainted her whole car! It looks great!
Theres a secret warranty for white paint on 2017 corollas. Everyone should have gotten a letter.
I’m in parts for Toyota
Service sends the Toyota to a partnering Body shop to paint the vehicles for us. The body shop is so backed up we are declining incoming work and I think service is putting incoming work on a waiting list. Also most Toyota dealers that I know don’t have in house body shops.
I kept walking by my landlord’s white Camry that had a bare metal patch about the size of a 3" piece of masking tape. Came across a post here about the recall (or whatever it was) and let her know. They did a tape test where they tried different areas to see if the paint pulled off. Voila, entire 7 year old car repainted. I pay really cheap rent - glad I could earn my keep. Thanks Reddit. lol
Had this done on my wife’s 2013 RAV4 with 160k on it. Basically had the whole car repainted as the roof, hood, and side panels were peeling. Looks brand new now. Gave her a 2020 RAV4 loaner and never paid a dime. Toyota is the best boys that’s how you stand by a product.
Anyone with a Tacoma getting any repaint love?
What vehicles does this apply to? I have a less than 2 year old white 4Runner that has quite a bit of missing paint on the front bumper.
