This happened to my wife’s 2016 Corolla where several panels had paint chipping off of them. I did a little research to discover they could potentially cover repainting the panels. We took it into a dealer, they took some pictures and after a few weeks it got approved! It took nearly 2 weeks for the job to be completed, they gave us a rental in the meantime. We just got the car back today and it looks brand spanking new. Pretty much everything was repainted except for the front end and the rear bumper. It’s even hard to tell that it has a few dents!
Give it a shot and good luck!
I kept walking by my landlord’s white Camry that had a bare metal patch about the size of a 3" piece of masking tape. Came across a post here about the recall (or whatever it was) and let her know. They did a tape test where they tried different areas to see if the paint pulled off. Voila, entire 7 year old car repainted. I pay really cheap rent - glad I could earn my keep. Thanks Reddit. lol
