I’m looking for some suggestions for great co-op games for him and I to play to introduce him to PC gaming on the Deck. I’ve been strictly single player, so hit me with some multiplayer bangers!
Left 4 dead 2 Monster hunter rise Party animals Rocket league Valheim Payday 2 Dying light Borderlands series
You need to check out protondb to make sure games will run correctly. A Korean MMO I want to get back into doesn’t really run on Steam since the devs lump Proton in with “Third-party programs” used to cheat and therefore will do nothing to make the game playable (if you do get the game to run it will treat you as a bot and force you complete a “price you are a human” captcha at the end of EVERY single dungeon run).
Lost Ark?
My top 3 would be heavenly bodies, cassette beasts, and sackboy

Baldur’s Gate 3
if it’s just you and him, It Takes Two is really fun and was one of the first games i played on the deck when i got it, extremely fond memories.
Another good game from the same devs is “a way out”
Dungeons & Dragons Chronicles of Mystara is a blast. Friend of mine and I have a weekly get together and that’s often the game of choice.
Ultimate Chicken Horse is a great co-op/friendly competitive game.
Cat Quest 2 is Co-op and while simple is very good at what it does.
Deep Rock Galactic if your friend is familiar with the more “serious” side of gaming.Castle $&@ing Crashers
Borderlands 2 runs great on the deck and has a crazy amount of coopable content.
Deep Rock Galactic runs great and is the greatest multi-player game I’ve ever played. You can also set difficulty and have as easy or as hard of a run that you want. Rock and Stone!
Borderlands series.
The Forest
battle-block theater
Co-op? Warframe. Tons of content, great gameplay loop, free to play and not pay2win. Also runs marvelously on the Deck last I played.
Left 4 Dead 2 is a certified classic.
