Dungeons & Dragons Chronicles of Mystara is a blast. Friend of mine and I have a weekly get together and that’s often the game of choice.
Ultimate Chicken Horse is a great co-op/friendly competitive game.
Cat Quest 2 is Co-op and while simple is very good at what it does.
Deep Rock Galactic if your friend is familiar with the more “serious” side of gaming.
