Savagegeese drive the 992 Carrera T and debate whether it is exciting enough to justify the insane price tag. IMO it seems like a fantastic car but at $140-160k specced out it is robbery.

It seems insane to me how the moment you start to spec these out, they jump like, one Miata to one Mustang in price.

From the bare basics like parking cameras and cruise control to nicer things like rear axle steering and front axle lift, to the freaking leather interior, it’s all opt-in, and the least you could spec it to a good standard is like, 140k. Well optioned, it’s up to something like 160k.

At that point, you are talking like-new, or actually new, Lambo, McLaren, Aston Martin…

Autotrader USA doesn’t work on my country for some ungodly reason, but Autotrader UK had some 2018-2019 Hurracans for about that much, last I checked, with 5-20k miles on them.

Honestly that’s my issue. I’ve never owned a porsche or anything, but based on how it’s always described it sounds like its just a generally great car, jack of all trades, etc…

And like Mark said, there are specific trims to get the thing you want. But if you want the theater and excitement, are you really wanting to spend 250k on GT3, or 300k for a turbo S, when you could be getting a huracan? Because those are exciting for sure, but they’re not winning that fight against a lambo.

Same with comfort, you could spec out a 911 to be ultra luxurious comfort… But you could also just get a maybach for the same price.

I don’t pretend money is meaningless to people who can afford these cars, but at these prices surely you’d prefer to maximize the thing you want the most, then maybe get a budget mid level BMW to cover the opposite end you care less for.
