    That is SO barely above full, it is 1000% fine.

    You are smelling what they spilled, not what they overfilled.

      This is the correct answer. You aren’t smelling oil because it’s over full, you are smelling it because they spilled a little. If the oil level was really that sensitive you would have an issue every time you went up or down a hill, around a corner, etc. They probably set the oil level immediately after shutting off the engine and you may have let it sit and drain down longer before you checked it.

      Barely overfilled??? It’s an inch above the crosshatch! Thats easily a quart and a half overfilled. It’s supposed to reach right before the final hole at the top. Here, the level is reaching the part of the dipstick that is twirled.

      Plus, let’s be honest, if a person does not do their own oil changes, do they really know how to “remove oil”?
      Not to be a jerk, but even terminology. Id say drain rather than remove. It’s oil, not a wasp nest. Lol
