Roman Abramovich is accused of paying people under the table. Man City have 115 charges.
Under Abramovich Chelsea have won - 5 League titles, 2 UCLs, 2 Europa Leagues, 5 FA Cups, 3 energy drink Cups, 2 supercups,
Under Sheikh Mansour Man City have won - 7 league titles, 1 UCL, 3 FA Cups 6 energy drink cups, 1 super cup.
Lets say hypothetically the EPL manage to prove it happened. And the points deduction is something that even Man City cannot recover from Eg. 90+ points deducted.
Would you be willing to accept a relegation to the championship for the above memories?
Eg. you saw your club win those things and have the memories of watching it?
Relegation to the championship would be near-meaningless. They’d be back the next season
Do what they done to juventus and rangers
Rangers were liquidated. Wouldn’t be the same.
I know but they got relegated to the bottom. You get what I’m saying. To the stocks with them
Are there any wage limits or anything in the Championship?
We can just loan out all of our good players
There are FFP rules. Similar but lower amounts than the prem.
Without TV and European money city would have to sell near every player to not breach it.
There are sustainability rules, you can only spend a set amount more than you bring in. With PL revenue gone, City/Chelsea would need to sustain their sponsorship and ticket revenue in order to afford their wages etc. It’s done on a three year rolling calculation so they’d be ok if they came right back up but if somehow they shat the bed and didn’t, it could get interesting for them. Although if they didn’t come straight back up they’d then qualify for parachute payments, ridiculously enough.
They need the Rangers treatment. I reckon Chelsea would slowly come back, Man City I’m not so sure. Small club with a decade of bought success, at least Chelsea had some history before the Russian money came in. Repossess the stadium and make City an example of what happens to cheaters in football. Punish Chelsea harshly as well.
Before the Abramovich takeover, Chelsea had 1 top flight title, 2 second division titles, 3 FA cups, 2 League Cups, and 2 UEFA Cup Winners Cup.
Before ADUG takeover, City had 2 top flight titles, 7 second division titles, 4 FA cups, 2 League Cups, and 1 Cup Winners Cup.
r/confidentlyincorrect gold!
City were bigger than Chelsea and are now likely also bigger than Chelsea
This is so lame. City existed before your club and has tonnes of history. Also has a fan base who famously followed their team to the lower divisions in their thousands each week. You don’t know what you’re talking about obviously.
As a United fan, I agree City had success and a decent fan base long before the takeover.
I’ll always have a soft spot for City for sharing their ground with United during the war and for their respect when Munich happened - unlike other teams, like Leeds, who were awful.
Thanks for the kind words. I shouldn’t say it but I have a small soft spot for United fans sometimes too. It’s better when we have a good rivalry between the two Manchester clubs. Although I don’t forgive you for the 34 years banner, you lot are usually pretty resonable.
pre take overs city was definitely bigger than chelsea you baboon
