After the Premier League handed out a ten-point deduction to Everton, Martyn Ziegler explains what could happen next for other clubs if they are found guilty of breaking rules
If City get found guilty it casts an enormous shadow over British sport as a whole, having the dominant team for a decade be financially doping. Inexcusable, and reforms from the top-down are needed, or I have a nasty feeling the corruption and cheating will infiltrate further into other sports.
I hope it does cast a massive shadow over it all, because there are plenty of honest teams who didn’t buy players because they wanted to stay within the FFP rules. City need relegating to the 4th tier for what they’ve done. The PL did perfectly well for the 16 years without City being so called top dogs. No team is bigger than the brand. To hell with them.
