I have a feeling nostalgia and tribalism is going to have a lot more say on this than actual reason 😅
Lot of nostalgia for Sagna, and recency bias for White. Strip both of those and IMHO Bellerin is clear.
The level he showed before he blew out his knee was top shelf. He’d fit right into our setup today, having the ball skills to bomb up and down the flank, sit centrally and recycle the ball. The crossing would need work but that was improving as he got older.
Many acknowledge this, the only issue being that others evaluate things in such a hypothetical squad differently: You are looking at the peak of the player, whilst others are looking at their overall/average level of play whilst at the club. If you consider the latter, Bellerin is out of the question, since he was not at the peak of his powers for the majority of the time he spent at the club.
Makes sense. I stand corrected!
Eboue
I’ve only come to see Eboue
Sagna for sure. That’s why Man City bought him afterwards.
If based on a period, then 15/17 Bellerin. If based on their entire Arsenal career, White or Sagna.
I guess that covers most RB we’ve had 😂
Cedric, Lichtsteiner, Jenkinson, chambers, debuchy, eboue(?), partey, tomiyasu, timber, Maitland-niles
Body of work: Sagna
Single season: prime Hector
2025 answer: love island benny
Best answer on the post imo
prime Hector was a ton of fun to watch
The only thing better than his play on the pitch was his immaculate style off of it.
This comment shows how OP’s method of upvoting comments as the way of selecting players will not work as well as something like a poll or google survey.
What season is prime Hector?
He was in the TOTS in 15/16, most notably ahead of Walker(still with Spurs at the time)
I would probably say Szczesny over Leno tbh.
For right back, has to be Sagna.
The Corporal.
Bacaryyyyyyyyy
Sagna for sure
Another vote for prime hector, guy was unreal before his ACL exploded
Sagna was overall the more complete player. Bellerin couldn’t defend anywhere near as well but was great offensively and I would sacrifice some attack in a RB for a much better defense
guys sleeping on bellerin, him at his best is only behind sagna in terms of emirates rbs and in the last 10 years hes been the best out of the choices
Oh lol, so we already messed it up on day 1?
Sagna.
