A lot of potential HOFers won’t get their jersey retired when you realize there’s way more to making it to the HOF outside of being a team lead and winning a ring.
I don’t see Horford getting his jersey retired here in Boston, but he’ll be in the Hall of Fame for his college career alone. Then you add on his longevity and a possible ring with Boston (hopefully this year) and it’s hard not to see him get in on one of the ballots.
I don’t see how Harden made enough of an impact versus longevity on any team to do it.
Maybe if Houston is dying to have a jersey presentation, 🤷🏼
Sorry, my viewpoint is a little tainted by having 17 banners in the rafters.
But still, they retire the jersey for what a player did for the team not for his career accolades he got while he happened to be on the team.
