$19 billion seems high.
And what does that make Android’s whole point? 😉
I know it doesn’t make sense, but can’t blame the guy, he probably went to school in Florida
Sweden’s response:
This; keep in mind that Rexxit is still ongoing and there are a lot of new arrivals here. So it makes sense that the pain of departing Reddit as well as adjustment pains settling into the Fediverse will be a theme for a while. As people get used to the new way of things, I have no doubt these “meta” issues will naturally become stale.
What? Can’t they get defederated if it’s this obvious?
what, for real? I thought it had a porthole or something
Could they have handled this whole situation any worse?
I can’t say I’m shocked, but I am disappointed. But at the same time - Lemmy/Kbin is the answer. This is the way.
Reddit is deaddit. Long live the glorious Lemmy-Kbin Continuum.
Yea, I think that’s pretty indisputable. My sense is a native Apple Silicon + Metal binary would be highly competitive with a higher end Windows machine, but Rosetta + WINE only gets you so far. Hopefully, the fact that every Mac now for sale has a GPU ranging from decent to beefy will make macOS worth targeting for developers.
Class act is a great way to put it. I agree, he’s a credit to indie developers everywhere. And actually his “take the high road” approach is such a contrast with Spez’s unprofessional behaviour, that it just serves to make the latter look even worse.
Me too, but I think the Reddit and Lemmy APIs are sufficiently different that he would effectively have to rebuild most of the app. I have high hopes for https://github.com/buresdv/Mlem, I’m in the TestFlight, but it’s too incomplete to actually use currently. Still, I’ll miss Apollo itself far more than Reddit.
You absolute madman
Hietzing! Die legendäre 13!!! Fuck yeah!
…but that said, if you let us know what you’ve liked and disliked so far, I bet we can sling you a few more recommendations to find similar things and help you branch out!
Hey, ain’t nothin’ wrong with Total Wine, I used to hit that up all the time when I lived in Florida. I think as you get more into it, and discover what you like, you’ll find that joining a few wine clubs is the best way to get smaller-batch stuff that’s more aligned with your own tastes, assuming you’re into domestic wines as well. I live in Portugal now so sadly access to American wine is scarce, but when I lived in Fort Lauderdale I had a bunch of wine clubs from wineries in California and Oregon which I really enjoyed. A great way to discover that is to plan a trip out west somewhere and just spend a week visiting different wineries and tasting stuff!
That’s a great price for a decent bottle of French. Where did you snag it?
