1 year agoI think they’re actually worried about demand. As inventory levels recover to normal, EVs are taking twice as long as gas cars to sell (days on hand). Tesla even had a bad quarter.
I don’t think it’s at all the fault of the UAW given to date none of them are unionized to my knowledge.
I did it myself for $400 including the charger (I only did a 16 amp/3.8kw unit). There’s so many variables, mainly related to existing equipment and distance from panel to have any clue without getting quotes. Could be cheap, or could require a service and panel upgrade.
I’ve also heard some electricians marking up EV work and you may get a cheaper quote if you say it’s for a welder or something. Depends how unscrupulous they are.
